Avnet has introduced an independent software vendor (ISV) ecosystem designed specifically for the healthcare technology market.

Avnet’s new ISV ecosystem enables partners to provide complete healthcare solutions, including leading healthcare industry software, hardware, and services.

“To meet the technology needs of hospitals and medical facilities, it is critical to provide not only hardware infrastructure, but also the industry-specific applications that doctors, nurses and administrators need to do their jobs,” said Tony Vottima, vice president of Vertical Market Solutions, TS Americas. “By teaming with the healthcare industry’s leading software providers, Avnet partners will be able to provide complete solutions for their healthcare customers. This will greatly benefit partners' end-user customers because they'll be able to purchase all of their technology needs from one source instead of working with multiple companies to create a solution. Avnet will work hand-in-hand with our ISV and reseller partners to identify and manage solution opportunities that will grow their businesses.”

Participating members of the ISV ecosystem work in conjunction with experts from Avnet's HealthPath™ practice to pursue solutions opportunities. Launched in March 2006, Avnet's HealthPath practice provides in-depth pre- and post-sales support, comprehensive training and market-specific technology solutions. It has helped partners increase sales into the healthcare technology market by more than 40 percent during the last year.

“Avnet understands the healthcare market and realizes the importance and benefits of enabling its partners to provide complete solutions,” said Marc Sarazin, vice president of sales and marketing at AdvizeX Technologies. “With the introduction of Avnet's ISV ecosystem, we'll now be able to position ourselves as a one-stop shop for our healthcare customers' technology needs. We feel this will accelerate our sales process and help us further expand into the healthcare market.”

Four ISVs are initially participating in the ecosystem program:

  • BridgeHead Software BridgeHead Software provides archiving and backup software products. Its applications enhance how medium to large organizations manage their data and storage infrastructures.
  • Compressus Inc. – Compressus Inc.’s MEDxConnect System is a suite of tools designed to manage the workflow of an imaging healthcare enterprise. It has the power to connect disparate HIS/RIS/PACS systems and provide automated interoperability to the enterprise. MEDxConnect allows an organization with disparate multi-vendor systems to function as one virtual enterprise.
  • HIPAA Solutions – HIPAA Solutions focuses on a comprehensive compliance approach that allows organizations to implement solutions targeted to specific requirements of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) while reducing costs and complexity of compliance efforts and ensuring that compliance is reliably addressed.
  • Sentillion – Sentillion successfully combines patented technology with a deep understanding of the healthcare industry to deliver the most comprehensive set of solutions for single sign-on, user provisioning, clinical workstations and virtualized remote access. Recently recognized as the number one single sign-on (SSO) vendor by leading healthcare industry independent research firm KLAS in its Top 20: 2007 Year-End Report, Sentillion is the only identity and access management company whose solutions are used daily by over 350,000 caregivers in leading healthcare organizations across North America and Europe.
